Hi! My name is Kateri and I officially started Garlic and Thyme in 2022 to help get folks more interested in gardening and chickens by sharing my experience and joy! I grew up in the garden beside Mom and Babka and come from a family tree of hardy Slovak peasant farmers. I caught the chicken bug in late 2019 and 20 hens became 60 in a couple years! I am interested in self-sufficiency within your means. I can’t bring in cows and pigs but I never have to buy eggs or potatoes ever again. I pride myself on using only organic and life-respecting methods in how I grow food. I am also expanding into broilers in my own fight against the meat industry, and into cut flowers for a market stand. Join me on my adventures as we learn and have fun together!
